High School Home Schooling–Improving The Curriculum
You could improve the curriculum with some online courses – there are lots of distance learning classes available – some of them are free, but some of them – especially if they lead to a recognized qualification, will cost money. The cost will be worth it to challenge your child and improve their educational experience.
Check with your local school as they may have a distance learning, or 'outreach' component too – this will give you more options for courses, and allow your child to tailor their curriculum to their tastes, letting them specialize in things that interest them, and perhaps allowing them to progress at a faster pace than they would if they were learning entirely at home.
A few small changes to your educational practices can make a big difference. Make sure that your high school child is being challenged, and is enjoying their curriculum. Also, make sure that they get plenty of opportunities to socialize, and that they are able to learn things that they are interested in, and that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.

I was a home schooled kid. I kind of enjoyed it, but at the same time, I hear my friends talking about all the things they did in school. Band, football, athletics, ect. I sort of feel like I missed out on some really fun things. I am glad I got to stay home and spend time with my mom who was my teacher, but still, there is a part of me that feels like I missed out. Talk to your kids before you home school, they may not want it.
