Do You Have Sleep Disorder Symptoms?

If you have trouble getting to sleep at night or find yourself waking up several times during the night, then you may already realize that you have a sleep disorder.  People typically should fall asleep within 20 minutes of going to bed and usually don't wake up during the night.  But many sleep disorder symptoms are not even related to your sleep patterns.  This means you may have a sleeping disturbance and not even realize it!  Let's take a look at common sleep disorder symptoms and see what they include.

Waking up with a headache or sore throat on a consistent basis are common sleep disorder symptoms.  While headaches and sore throats are symptoms of many conditions such as colds and the flu, these are usually rare and may happen to a person once or twice per year.  When you consistently have these sleep disorder symptoms and find that you wake up with them, then there is reason for concern.

Being nauseated, blurred vision, dizziness, and problems breathing during the day are also common sleep disorder symptoms.  These too are typically related to not getting enough oxygen during the night so that the digestive system is not working as it should.  A lack of sleep also means the body is not completely rested and therefore may feel faint or dizzy during the day.

But probably the most common sleep disorder symptoms are those feelings of fatigue and drowsiness.  Getting regular physical exercise can help a person not just ward off these feelings but can also help one sleep at night.  Many people ignore the advice about watching their caffeine intake and about avoiding spicy or heavy foods at night, which in turn can interrupt the sleep cycle.  More serious sleep disorder symptoms that are not fixed with sleep deprivation homemade remedies and treatments should be discussed with a doctor as he or she can often recommend medical intervention and options.  Sleep is very important not just to make one feel refreshed and energized during the day but for the body's overall health and well-being as well.
