What Everybody Ought To Know About The Flu Virus
The flu is as old as humans have been on this earth – and it is the same today as it was eons ago. They say that you can contact a flu virus only once in your life, i.e. you never repeat falling sick due to the same virus twice. Counting from the times I fell sick due to cold and flu only, I am horrified to even think how many of these viruses are around us.
The flu virus usually spreads most commonly to hands contact, and not as it is commonly believed through sneezing and contaminated air. Usually a person sneezes on the papers they have in front of them, or on the hand. Then he/she gives you the paper or shakes hands with you – and bingo the flu virus is crawling all over you. Now you have to do is put your hand to you eyes, nose or mouth and the virus is inside your body. There is nothing than can be done.
Prevent The Flu Virus - Wash Your Hands As Frequently As You Can
Surprised? You should not be. The virus enters your body through the mucous membrane of your body. That will be your nose, your eyes and your mouth. It could spread through sex as well but we are all looking at the most common examples. The microbes/germs, as I said earlier, get accumulated on your hands and all around you.
Anyone who touches anything on your desk, or you will have the germs covering him/he in no time. This will stay harmless till you put your hand in your eye, mouth or nose. Hence, before you do that, wash your hands with soap and if you have a germicidal solution before you touch your face or food.
You must have heard about the avian flu virus which has become pandemic creates waves of panic throughout the world. The disease is highly contagious, it is true. The infection is passed from birds to humans through touching of bird bodies and their excreta.
‘Touching’ – only touching cannot facilitate the virus getting into the blood stream. You touch the bird and then touch the mucous membrane of your body and this is the way it crosses over in your blood stream. Hence, if you make sure that your clothes are washed before these touch anything else in the house, your hands, hair and body is washed thoroughly, there is a little chance that you catch the virus.

I can not stress the importance of hand washing! From a very early age, I have taught my son to wash his hands several times a day, and I can honestly say that at the age of 7, my son has never once had the flu! And he goes to a public school. I am a firm believer that good hygiene is the key to good health.
I agree with this completely! I have always told my son to wash his hands before every meal and after going to the bathroom, and he has had no major health problems. I also make it a point to wipe down the counters and things that go near his mouth (like the telephone) once a day with antibacterial sprays. Our household hasn’t seen a case of the flu in years. Good hygiene does mean good health!
I’ve never heard of the flu being caught through having sex. This one is completely new to me. My husband gets flu quite alot. The chances are high that I would catch it too, being in the same house and all. But now I’m learning that flu can be passed on through having sex.
