Easy Ways To Eat Fruits On The Run

May 19th, 2008 Darlyn Posted in Food & Cooking No Comments »

We all have been told that we need to eat three or more servings of fruit per day.   Most people barely get one serving per day and that is one serving is usually in the form of juice and not the actual fruit itself.   One of the main problems is finding easy ways to get your servings of fruit each day without having to work too hard to do it.  Let’s face it, we’re all busy and if we have to remember one more thing, even if it is beneficial to our health, the chances of actually remembering it are slim to none.

Eat Fruit In Its Natural Form

The best way to eat fruit is in it’s natural form. It is sweet and contains nutrients needed by the body. You can take an apple, peach, plum, pear, banana, and various other fruits along in the car, in the elevator, at your desk, and around the store if you are sneaky. No, this is not a recommendation to be fruit stealers at the store. ;) At most, you’ll only be left with a peel or seeds to toss in a trashcan when you carry a piece of fresh fruit with you. A Few Thoughts About Eating in The Car

May 8th, 2008 Darlyn Posted in Food & Cooking No Comments »

Eating in the car is something you shouldn’t do unless you are highly skilled at juggling. In your defense, if you can get the kids to soccer, ballet, pick up the dry cleaning, conduct the car pool, and get to work on time, you are qualified. Okay, so everyone’s schedule isn’t that busy, but there are times when almost everyone has to be away from home during meal times at one time or another due to hectic schedules.

The goal here is to keep you from being tempted when it comes to eating out just because you can’t be home at dinner time. When there are items on hand that you can reach and eat with the car in motion, it is easier to pass right by those fast food joints and stick to healthier eating habits. Here are just a few choices to help you do just that. These foods can all be prepared prior to traveling so they are right there ready to eat right when that hunger pain hits. Cooking Ham Instructions: Grandma's Well Loved Method
