Where would you like to get married? The entire globe is your backyard. At least, if money and time are not limiting factors. Some very popular locations are : Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas, or an island in the Caribbean. These are all great options.
However, for the American bride, there are also many options for destination weddings that are much closer to home. For instance, you could select a nice location in the southern states and experience southern mansions for the wedding. For the more extravagant, there are always options such as the large romantic cities of Paris and of course, New York.
Some people may want a wedding in a mountain area and there are many beautiful locations such as Jackson Hole, Wyoming or the Pocono’s which would provide nice locales. Considering a beach wedding? You don’t need to go to the islands. Florida and the gulf coast of the United States offer scenic beaches with great facilities.
Plan For The Weather
One critical factor to take into considering when choosing a destination wedding location is the time of year you plan to get married and weather conditions on your preferred wedding destination. If the Caribbean or Mexico is your ideal choice then you need to be aware of the hurricane season which runs from August through November. Take this into consideration and plan accordingly. The last thing you need is for your dream wedding to get cancelled or disrupted by a category five hurricane.
Even though it is cheaper to travel to these locations during the hurricane season, it would not be very nice to have a wedding in a hurricane ( unless you are the adventurous types).
For June weddings, Las Vegas may not be the best choice. It is very hot in Las Vegas during the summer, so bear this in mind if Las Vegas is your first choice for your destination wedding.
Simple common sense and proper planning will help you pick the best location for the date you plan to get married. In the end, your main goal should be to ensure that the destination wedding is a charming and memorable experience for everyone involved…especially for you! After all it is your special day.
